Actually, the co-op is great for our family. It has allowed several moms to pool their talents and teach subjects they really enjoy and my kids have the benefit of learning from other moms who really enjoy what they teach. I think it's the best from both worlds of "home" and "school". We teach Latin, Science, Writing, History and Art. We do the other subjects (Math, grammar, etc) on our own. I teach history and this week, we are studying the Alamo and the war with Mexico in the elementary class and Westward Expansion and the Oregon Trail in the middle/high school class. Fun stuff!

I got a grin from these. They're from the book "When You Lick a Slug, Your Tongue Goes Numb" by H. Jackson Brown, Jr:
Wisdom from children on family matters:
"When your mother is mad and asks you, 'Do I look stupid?' it's best not to answer her." - Meghann, age 13
"If your sister hits you, don't hit her back.. Parents always catch the second person."- Michael, age 10
"Brothers are annoying until they get a car."- Leslie, age 12
"When your mom is mad at your dad, don't let her brush your hair"- Morgan, age 11
"You should never ask your three-year-old brother to hold a tomato."- Alecia, age 12
"You shouldn't bug a pregnant mom."- Nicholas, age 11
